I admit it. I’m a Britney Spears fan. A true fan who appreciates her poor talent, her catchy tunes, her failed relationships, the many hair colors, her previous rock hard abs, and her terrible fashion sense. She has no vocal range but for some reason I’ve always been intrigued by her star quality.

But lets get real folks. At this moment in time pretty much everyone in America under the age of 65 has heard of Britney Spears. Whether or not you like her or her music, you probably recognize her face and might even know a little about her personal life. There was a period of time between 2001 and 2003 when this girl was at the top of her game. But now in 2007 one thing remains - you still read about her. I’m not saying all of the publicity about Spears is remotely good, but her name is still around. In case you’ve missed Conan or Best Week Ever the past two years (shame on you), here’s a little update on Spears:

BRITNEY UPDATE - Her body has completely changed. She filed for divorce from a young man named Kevin Federline in the fall of 2006. Spears and Kevin have two children together. Shes currently bar hopping several nights a week, recording an album and plans to make a huge comeback.

So, as I sit here in my cubicle in the library on a daily basis, trying to read but really looking at celebrity websites, I started to think about Spears. There are many people on television and on the internet who mock Spears on a daily basis and I love it. As a law student at Barry University, its difficult not to dissect all the parodies, the criticism, the defamation claims, and the possible copyright infringement that surrounds Spears on a daily basis. Lately it seems like many people make fun of her rather than focus on her work. Towards the end of 2006 I started to read about the many Britney Spears fans who were shutting down their websites devoted to the pop princess. These fans see her as a mother of two who is partying like a freshman girl at a frat party every night of the week. These fans were disappointed in her and didn’t want to be associated with her anymore.  But not me! I’m someone who enjoys reading about her many ups and downs…let the girl look ridiculous because I’m still going to take the time to read about it.  So, I’ve decided to do something about it.  I want to help! I’m giving Britney Spears a legal voice because somebody has too.  This site will focus on the wonderful life of Britney Spears and the many legal theories that surround those daily remarks, parodies, and jokes. I’ve decided that since all those other terrible fair weather fans dropped her, I’m going to keep Spears alive through my legal analysis!
